Last year we shared 10 amazing Slack stats. As we’re well into this year, we revisited these Slack stats for 2022 and discovered some new jaw-dropping findings and trends.
1) 6.5 billion
$6.5 billion is the estimated size of the workstream collaboration (WSC) market (which includes Slack) by 2024 according to Gartner. The WSC market was estimated at $2.3 billion in 2019, so that’s a 300% increase in size in just five years.
This level of growth is not just driven by internal communications. Gartner predicts that by 2024, 50% of WSC users will be in customer-facing roles including sales and support. No doubt this has been accelerating with Salesforce’s acquisition of Slack, as Slack reimagines communications between sales and potential customers.

Based on a survey conducted by Slack in December of 2021, users say that Slack has increased their productivity by an amazing 49%. They also say that their team works 35% faster due to Slack, sends out 60% fewer emails and conducts 36% fewer meetings.

Uh, make that 6 disruptions. I must have jinxed them with this post because they have an issue right now. The lowest uptime by month has been 99.94%, with 9 months of 100% uptime over the past year.

According to LinkedIn, 3,752 employees work at Slack. That's a 33% increase in workforce since the last time we reported on this stat.
